The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) is one of Australia's key research agencies and the only one solely committed to marine research, with an emphasis on tropical marine science.
AIMS was established in 1972 and has its headquarters on a 207 hectare site at Cape Ferguson, 50km from the business centre of the City of Townsville in North Queensland. Documentation and Tender Analysis NPM have completed the tender documentation, tender analysis and contract documentation for a number of service contracts for the Australian Institute of Marine Science over the past few years. These have been very diverse, including Maintenance of the Cape Ferguson facility, Security, Catering Cleaning and Grounds Maintenance, and most recently, the Management of AIMS Shipping. Site Master Plan NPM recently completed a Site Master Plan for the Australian Institute of Marine Science. This study provides an overall plan for the integrated staged development of the whole of the Cape Ferguson site, to serve AIMS requirements of areas and facilities through the future five years and to provide a base for the development planning for the next decade. New Scientific Facilities NPM recently completed the design and construction of a new Scientific Facilities Wing at AIMS, as well as the complete refurbishment of the administration facility and existing laboratories and offices. This is the first portion of a staged development of facilities valued at approximately A$24,000,000. |
